In this article, I’ll share with you how to turn off read receipts on your Instagram account. We love the feature of Instagram where we know when somebody reads our message. It is convenient, We can hold people accountable if they raise their hand and tell you that they did not read your message.
But this can go the other side as well. What if you do not want others to know that you have read their message. If you want to learn this you have come to a good place. I’ll share with you a simple method that can help you to achieve this easily without any app.
Of course, there is no official feature on Instagram that allows users to turn off read receipts. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t recreate the feature yourself and without any coding experience too. This is a grey area where Instagram keeps things inline for users to stick through the platform, there is no obvious anonymity when you use Instagram.
But of course, with a little caution, you can become a ghost reader, A person that can read messages anonymously is a ghost reader. The method I will share with you is safe. And completely within the policy of Instagram terms and conditions.
Learn the steps for how to check if the message is still unseen?
Step-1: First of all, you can open your Instagram application on your mobile device. And click on the message arrow on the top-right side of the corner.
Step-2: Once you do that, you can see all the DMs from and to your profile. Now, take a glance and make sure the message is still highlighted. The message would appear bolder than those that you have already clicked. Below is an image that will help you understand better.
Step-3: Once you have identified that the message is not being clicked or visited, Now you can follow the process to see the message easily without any issue.
How to Turn On Airplane Mode?
Step-1: Turn On Your Airplane Mode. You can do that easily my your notification slide from above. Or go to Settings > Network > Airplane mode.
Step-2: After you have turned Airplane mode on, remove all apps from the Task Manager. Generally, You can do this by tapping on the left-side button of your home screen. And then swiping all apps to close them.
To learn how to read messages without letting the other person know?
Step-1: Open the Instagram app again, And click on the arrow message to view all DMs.
Step-2: Now, Read the message and then close the app. If you want, you can also screenshot the message for your future reference. All you need to do is just press the power button and volume lower button simultaneously.
Step 1: Open your default mobile settings. And then you can find the Apps section and click on it.
Step-2: From the App, Click on Manage App and Find Instagram from the given options. Alternatively, You can also search for it.
Step-3: Once you find the app, click on it, and you’ll see a simple App Info layout. From here, simply click on the clear data button on the bottom-right side of your screen.
Step-4: Now, A popup will appear that will say that all your data of the app would be deleted, click on OK.
Step-5: Now close all the apps, And also turn off the Airplane mode from your device.
Step-6: You can open your Instagram application. And the app would look as if it was installed new, and you need to enter your login credentials. Upon you signing in, you’ll find that the message in your dm is still unread.
