I intend to share with you the steps on how to delete a Lyft account without getting into any trouble. On-demand ride apps are great, but there are too many of them. And sometimes we just have bad experiences with them. In any case, we just don’t want to have an account any longer with them. It is quite straightforward for most apps to delete your profile.
But some apps make it quite harder to close your account. Including Lyft. That’s why I have shared with you the simplest method to delete your account permanently. Once you delete the app, you will lose access to your account, and you won’t be able to use the same in the future. You will need to create a new account in order to use Lyft services again.
Instructions For How T0 Delete Your Lyft Account Easily
Step-1: Firstly, you can open your Lyft app from your Android or IOS device.
Step-2: Once you are inside the app, click on the hamburger icon on the top-left side of your screen.
Step-3: After tapping on the button, A sliding window will appear with different options.
Step-4: From the given options, you have to choose the help button. You can find it just above the setting button.
Step-5: Once you are in the help option. You’ll have different options to choose from. Under the ALL Help banner, scroll down and look for Profile and Account and click on it.
Step-6: After you click on the Profile and Account button, all options available inside the same will appear.
Step-7: From the given option, navigate yourself and click on the Delete My Account button.
Step-8: Once you do that, you’ll be redirected to a new screen with a different option to either download your data to learn more about the deletion of the account.
Step-9: Then, the next step is you can just scroll to the bottom, and then click on the “Go to account deletion” button here. The button is in grey, so it’s normal to be overlooked, But you will find the same at the bottom of your screen.
Step-10: After you click on the Go to account deletion button, It will ask to open a link in the browser. It is up to you to choose which browser you use, but we recommend Google Chrome.
Step-11: A new webpage will open asking for you to enter your mobile number. You need to enter the same number that you have used for the registration of the account.
Step-12: Once you have entered the following, Now you can click on Next.
Step-13: It will redirect you to a new page asking for an OTP, which you will receive on the number you mentioned earlier. So it’s important to have the device in-network for this process.
Step-14: After receiving your OTP code, you can enter the same in the verification code in the input window.
Step-15: Now click on verify to continue with this process. If you have received the OTP a little late, It may ask you to enter your phone number again and do the same process of verifying the code.
Step-16: After your phone number has been successfully verified, you will be redirected to a new page. Afterward, it will ask for your email address. You have to enter the same email address that you have used to register with Lyft. If you use another email address, it will not continue with account deletion.
Step-17: Now, finally, It will take you to a new page. Here it will have two buttons to either download your data Or Delete Your Account. Click on the start button below the Delete Account banner.
Note: Downloading data could be very helpful because it will have all your riding history. You can reference the same to keep track of your moment in the past. Not just your riding history, but this includes all types of data that they store in their database under your profile. I would certainly recommend you download all your data.
Step-18: It will ask for the reason why you are leaving. Choose one and click Next. You can also choose your own reason, and you don’t have to enter the same as mine.
Step-19: Finally, you are on the last delete page; you have to enter the DELETE word in all caps in the input and hit the Delete Account button.
It is hoped that the steps above will allow you to remove the Lyft application from your mobile device without any assistance from another party.
