The main difference between these two microorganisms is in the pattern of reproduction. Bacteria reproduce through binary fission. In this, a bacteria divides into two identical daughter cells after having favorable conditions. This is the reason a bacteria grows at a much faster rate than any other microorganism.

A virus does not have those contents that are required for self-reproduction. So they depend on their host for reproduction as well. They release their genetic material in the host cells. Now a hist cell gives a favorable environment to that genetic material. Which in turn infects the cell and makes it burst open. Resulting in the production of more viruses inside the host body.

Both bacteria and viruses have different effects on the health of a human. With the help of symptoms, you can guess if you are infected by a virus or bacteria. Many bacteria are good for the human body.

And some of these bacteria are consumed by humans through food. Some bacteria are found inside the human body as well. These definitely help in strengthening the compromised immune system. A perfect example of a bacterial disease is tuberculosis.

Viruses initiate very infectious diseases. Some of the common examples of virus-initiated diseases are HIV, AIDS, COVID (Coroavirus), and more. Viruses that generate disease are more complicated and the only solution to treat these is the use of vaccines. They have a strong strength in reproduction. So once they have entered the host body they start to reproduce as soon as possible.

Antibiotic medications are used to treat bacterial infections. However, if you want to cure virus infection with antibiotics then it will not be possible. Because antibiotics are non-functional on viruses. It is because antibiotics work on specific bacteria only.
