Why your call is getting connected to Voicemail?

There can be many reasons why a user decides to turn on voicemail.

– The person may be about to run out of battery on their phone.

– Maybe the person doesn’t want to talk to you.

– He/she might not be in a position to pick up the call.

– The person might be working on something important.

– The person may have put their phone on silent or DND.

– Perhaps the person’s phone has been turned off.

Well, there’s no sure-shot answer to this. But the cases listed below can surely help you a lot in sorting and eliminating your assumptions.

#1. When the call goes straight to the voicemail:

If you did not hear the phone ring before it gets routed to voice mail, either the phone is not on, or the user blocked you.

Note: Airplane mode and lack of network are also recognized as phone switch off by the network provider.

#2. When the call rings before connecting to voicemail:

In this case, the phone is on. So now, why are you still being forwarded to the voice mailbox? Well, there can be two instances for this: Minimum no. of rings a person gets before stating that the person is usually between 7-12.

– If your call goes to voicemail before that, then the person has probably rejected or declined your call.

– If your call goes to voicemail after that, the person has not responded to the call at all. It might also be that the phone is on DND mode, which silent the phone call.
